Back to School, Back to Work Reality

The new school year is right around the corner. Back-to-school isn’t just a transition for kids, it’s a transition for their working parents, too. The rush to get kids ready and out the door can put strain on your morning productivity and meeting schedule. But school can also be a blessing for the rest of the day, as you can work without interruption (until your afternoon taxi duties start up).

If you’re looking to make the most of your newfound productive time once the kids are back in school, consider getting out of the house at least a couple of days per week at The Social. Here’s why.

Minimize Interruptions

Even when the kids are in school, home is full of distractions that can derail your productivity. Lingering chores, deliveries, and other household interruptions can make it difficult to focus and get your work done. Working for a few hours outside of the house just a couple of days a week can boost your production and make sure your work gets done.

At The Social, you can hunker down in one of our private offices or work at one of our café-style tables. However you choose to work at The Social, you can avoid interruptions and get your tasks completed before the kids hop off the bus.

Work in Bursts

A Florida State University study found that people are most productive when they work in bursts of no more than 90 minutes. Productivity declines when a work session exceeds 90 minutes. If you’re in a rut at home, try getting out of the house for just an hour and a half. It could be the most productive 90 minutes of your day.

At The Social, you can access our coworking space anytime that’s convenient for you. All-access members enjoy 24/7 access to our secure location, and business access members can visit us between 6 am and 6 pm Monday through Friday.

Stop Multitasking

The idea that you can multitask has been debunked by various studies. If you think you can work against your deadline while also doing the laundry, think again. Getting out of the house minimizes the tasks in front of you so you can focus. So grab your laptop, hop in the car, and leave the distractions at home.

A business access membership at The Social starts at just $99 per month. Stay productive during the back-to-school transition this fall. Schedule your free tour today.
